We came to see you today and to our great surprise and excitement, you were extubated and got to try out CPAP. CPAP basically allows you to do all the breathing on your own while supplying constant pressure and extra oxygen as needed. Your oxygen needs definitely went up today since you were working so hard, but you really did amazing. The nasal cannula has two little tube stubs that go up your nostrils and stays on using a sweet little hat/headgear assembled by your RT. You still have the feeding tubes that go through your mouth, but I think you look much more comfortable than before. Your nurse said you looked so calm and peaceful when they first extubated you. No more tubes down your throat! Yay!
I am so thankful for an amazing baby girl (that's you!), a loving husband, great family and friends, and our Savior, Jesus Christ. We have been blessed beyond belief over the past few months and feel a new appreciation for the life we have been given. We love you, Sofi. More than all the world.
